This Privacy Policy explains how Vector Mesa LLC (“we”, “us”, or “our”), operating under the brand name Viewpulse, collects, uses, and protects information when you use our social media analytics monitoring service at useviewpulse.com.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you register, we collect your email address and a password (stored as a secure hash). We do not store plaintext passwords.

Platform Access Tokens

To collect metrics on your behalf, we store OAuth access tokens for connected Instagram and TikTok accounts, and channel IDs for YouTube. Tokens are encrypted at rest using industry-standard Fernet symmetric encryption.

Analytics Metrics

We collect the following read-only data from platforms you connect:

YouTube: Video view counts, like counts, comment counts, subscriber counts, and impression data from the public YouTube Data API v3.
Instagram: Post reach, impressions, likes, comments, saves, shares, and follower counts from the Instagram Graph API (Meta). We access only business account metrics — we never access personal accounts or private data.
TikTok: Video view counts, likes, comments, share counts, and profile view counts from the TikTok Display API v2. We request only read access to public video metrics.

Usage Data

We may collect basic usage logs (page loads, feature usage) to improve the service. We do not use third-party analytics trackers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information exclusively to:

Display your analytics metrics in your Viewpulse dashboard
Send you daily or weekly summary reports (if enabled)
Alert you to significant metric changes (if enabled)
Maintain and improve the service

We do not:

Sell your data to third parties
Use your data for advertising
Share your data with other users
Access your social media accounts for any purpose other than reading the metrics described above

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties. Your analytics data is visible only to you (the account holder).

We may disclose information only if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of Viewpulse and its users.

4. Platform Data Permissions

Instagram (Meta)

We request the following Instagram Graph API permissions: instagram_basic, instagram_manage_insights, pages_show_list. These allow us to read your post metrics. We do not request permissions to post, comment, message, or modify your account in any way.

TikTok

We request the following TikTok Display API scopes: user.info.basic, video.list. These allow us to read basic profile information and your video list with public metrics. We do not post, comment, or perform any write operations on your account.

YouTube

We access the YouTube Data API v3 using an API key tied to your channel’s public data. No OAuth login is required for YouTube; we read only publicly available channel and video statistics.

5. Data Retention

Analytics metrics are retained as long as your account is active. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at hello@useviewpulse.com.

When you disconnect a platform from Viewpulse, we immediately revoke stored tokens and cease metric collection for that platform.

6. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures:

All data transmitted over HTTPS/TLS
Access tokens encrypted at rest using Fernet (AES-128-CBC + HMAC)
Passwords hashed using Django’s PBKDF2 algorithm
Server access restricted by firewall and SSH key authentication

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and all associated data
Withdraw consent for platform connections at any time

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our service evolves. Significant changes will be communicated via email. Continued use of Viewpulse after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
